Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Talent & Performance Management is a global position reporting to the Director, Talent Management & Diversity; and is a member of the Talent Management & Organizational Development Center of Excellence (TM&OD CoE). This role will be a key thought partner as we continue to build and transform our CoE to meet the rapidly growing demands of the business. This role will manage Insulet’s global Performance Management process and partner with key stakeholders in embedding Insulet’s performance management strategy. The individual in this role will also have accountabilities as a Talent Management Business Partner and consultant, providing expert strategic consultation to foster the talent agenda and drive results. The person in this position will be savvy on external market best practices which will shape their advice and counsel. A key success factor is the ability to partner with executive and senior leadership, business stakeholders, HR Business Partners and employees across the organization. This role requires a dynamic, forward-thinking expert in talent & performance management, who is excellent at providing strategic thought leadership, while also driving timely delivery of our initiatives.
Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Talent & Performance Management will be accountable for the following:
- Performance Management: This position is accountable to manage Insulet’s global Performance Management Processes, embedding and evolving our practices to reflect external best practices. This includes leading end-to-end process and strategy of year-end reviews, mid-year reviews, calibrations, and the implementation of Insulet’s new Performance Management rating scale to elevate the leadership expectations and capabilities required for our future business success. This also includes integration with Total Rewards on talent practices regarding Insulet’s Global Career Framework, promotion practices and Performance Management and compensation strategy; and partnership with HR Technology to ensure seamless integration and configuration in Workday.
- Talent Management Strategic Business Advisory and Consulting: This position will be accountable to serve as a Talent Management Business Partner providing strategic counsel and advice in partnership with HRBPs to the Executive Leader and next level leaders on how to drive and amplify their organization’s talent agenda to support the overall business strategy.
- Talking Talent Reviews: Partners with the Director Talent & Diversity, HRBPs, and business leaders for all Talking Talent Review sessions, which can include succession planning, diversity integration, hi-potential management, strategic workforce planning, retention assessment, and KPI management. Provides consultative advice and counsel, driving actions, and managing the timely preparation of all materials and communications required to execute flawless sessions with the business.
- Workforce Planning & Build/Buy Strategy: Support the implementation of the global workforce planning strategy across our talent agenda. This will require strong business acumen.
- Talent Analytics: Track the effectiveness of talent practices including a Talent Dashboard leveraging key strategic talent insights to support decisions in identifying, developing, tracking, and retaining key talents.
- Oversight of Talent System and Data Integrity: Manage the ON3 Talent Management software application through our external vendor; ensuring the right configuration to support our needs, while upholding data integrity and compliance with Insulet’s privacy practices. This role will serve as the key advisor/liaison with the business in upskilling business capability and understanding on how to best leverage the platform to support the overarching talent management practices and deliverables. In addition, this position will be responsible for conducting an RFP to determine the long-term software solution for succession planning and integration with Workday.
- Board of Directors and Talent & Comp Committee Preparations: This role will provide input into the preparations for all presentations to the Board and Talent & Compensation Committee meetings
- Vendor Management: Works with internal and external vendors as needed to provide additional support and expertise in support of our talent agenda.
Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of work experience in the field of Human Resources, Talent Management, Performance Management or related field
- Ability to travel as needed within US and OUS and support global time zones; estimated at 10% yearly travel
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Strong critical and strategic thinking
- Deep expertise and knowledge of external best practices in talent management and performance management, with experience delivering performance management cycles end-to-end and executing against a strategic talent agenda
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to solve practical problems and manage through challenges and obstacles in support of embedding robust talent and performance practices within Insulet
- Upbeat self-starter with a high level of flexibility

NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired). #LI-Remote
The preferred location is in or near the San Diego, CA area, with ability to be onsite in our San Diego offices for meetings as needed.
Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $149,325.00 - $223,987.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
