The purpose of the Senior Manager, Product Marketing is to develop and lead the product marketing function within our dealer marketing team. This role is a critical part of the evolving marketing function at Credit Acceptance and building impactful marketing strategies. Marketing is the strategic lever for driving transformational growth and achieving long-term business goals. This team is on a journey to transform the Credit Acceptance Brand and the Marketing function and building a team that brings together marketing expertise with a mission orientation to create something truly special.


 

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Manage product marketing capability: Define the capability, establish the roadmap, and build the product marketing foundations needed to support growth (through established and new products).
  • Market research and analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify dealer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. Leverage data to uncover insights and inform marketing and product strategies.
  • Data-driven strategy development: Synthesize insights to identify new recommendations for improving marketing and business results. Use a hypothesis-led, data-driven approach to shape go-to-market strategies and evaluate performance.
  • Product positioning and messaging: Develop compelling product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates the value proposition and differentiation of our products to target dealers and their needs. Craft clear and concise messaging for various marketing channels and buyer personas.
  • Dealer advocacy: Gather dealer feedback and insights to understand their needs and pain points. Leverage dealer testimonials and case studies to showcase the value of our products.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans: Drive product launches and feature updates, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and legal, to ensure successful execution.
  • Testing and optimization: Break down strategies into structured testing plans and learning agendas. Implement data-backed optimization efforts to improve marketing effectiveness and drive growth.
  • Operational excellence: Implement team rituals and streamline processes to improve visibility, accelerate speed to market, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Team leadership: Guide and enhance the career and skill development of direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • 8+ years of combined B2B or B2C corporate strategy, product strategy or product marketing.
  • 3+ years strategy experience in a marketing organization of at least 20 people or at a strategy consulting firm.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including developing and mentoring talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and insights to inform strategy and drive marketing effectiveness.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and uncover insights to drive marketing and business strategy.
  • Fluent in the economics of our business and able to identify key marketing levers that drive growth.
  • Ability to synthesize complex insights into clear and actionable strategies.
  • Experience structuring analytical requests and interpreting analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Hypothesis-driven approach to marketing, with an emphasis on testing, measuring, and learning.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, including product positioning, messaging, and competitive analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management and operations, to drive alignment and impact.
  • Highly effective communicator who makes complex ideas easy to understand.
  • Skilled relationship-builder who can influence internal decision-makers through both formal recommendations and informal networking.
  • Self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Thrives on the opportunity to lead and build in white space, collaborate, and drive results.
  • Ability to structure and sequence highly complex work while maintaining a systems-level view of marketing.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, and shifting priorities while delivering high-quality work.

Targeted Compensation: $170,000 - $200,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan.

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
