Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation Systems will work with various teams to design, implement, and optimize technology solutions that support the administration and management of incentive compensation plans. This role combines technical expertise, business acumen, and strategic thinking to enhance the organization’s compensation processes through scalable, efficient, and user-centric systems.

 

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales Operations, Sales, HR, and Finance, to ensure alignment of incentive compensation systems with business objectives and to drive continuous improvement.
 

What You'll do as a Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation

 

Strategic Technical Leadership – 70%

  • Partner with IT to lead the design and architecture of scalable and integrated incentive compensation systems that meet business needs and industry best practices.
  • Outline technical solutions for compensation plan automation, reporting, and analytics.
  • Assess current systems and identify opportunities for system enhancements or replacements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the implementation of incentive compensation software (e.g., SAP Callidus, Xactly, Varicent, or similar platforms).
  • Configure systems to support the design and calculation of incentive plans, including rules, hierarchies, workflows, and data integration.
  • Ensure robust data management, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for incentive calculations
  • Partner with business leaders to gather and refine requirements for system functionality, reporting, and integration.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business users to translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with IT to design data integration solutions and ensure system performance and security.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, architecture, and processes.
  • Implement and monitor system controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Provide guidance and training to end users and administrators on system functionality and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. 
  • Comply with system change and data privacy Governance process to ensure changes are vetted and aligned with the overall system roadmap.
  • Take a continuous learning approach and stay informed on system and industry trends with Incentive Compensation technology by attending training, using the SAP Community, attending user group meetings, attending conferences, etc.
  • Support stakeholders with sales analytics needs, bringing in appropriate technical resources to deliver on requirements.

 

Monthly Commission Processing – 30%  

  • Lead the calculation process for monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus/incentive payouts of defined and assigned field incentive plans, ensuring timely and accurate payouts. 
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of records loaded into the incentive system database each month. Perform manual adjustments as required to ensure compliance with approved, distributed incentive plans.
  • Serve as a point of contact for field inquiries regarding incentive payouts/calculations and sales reporting, ensuring swift resolution and clear communication.


 

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, Information Technology or related studies required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with a combination of Product Management, Technical Project Management, Consulting, and Incentive Compensation Administration.
  • Firm grasp of the commission administrative process flow, including plan document distribution and tracking; transaction crediting; incentive calculations; payment file preparation; and issue resolution.
  • Experience or understanding of commissions-specific SOX Controls.
  • Experience with Varicent, Anaplan ICM or a similar ICM tool
  • Must have significant project management experience using a proven methodology.  
  • Strong experience working with employee data, reporting, or HRIS analysis.  

Preferred:

  • PMP certification is a plus.

  • Clear, concise communicator; ability to synthesize complex data or business problems into actionable information to drive results.

Pay range for this opportunity is $98,750.00 - $150,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
