Compensation Range: $85,000 - $105,000
In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for an incentive plan.
As a Senior Manager, Fleet Maintenance at RXO, you will contribute to the profitability of our operations by developing and executing the Fleet Maintenance strategy. You and your team will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of tractors, trailers, forklifts, and hostlers, along with assets such as Electronic On-Board Recorders (EOBR), on-board communications, on-board tracking, and handheld scanners. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead a team in the Fleet Maintenance organization and be accountable for the daily actions and functional responsibilities of maintenance technicians, shop leaders, maintenance coordinators, and support personnel
- Handle a team, including coaching on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring employee engagement, leading situational and competency awareness, driving performance improvement where needed, recruiting, hiring/terminating employment, and providing a safe work environment for employees
- Work creatively with Operations to ensure assets and equipment are available for use and are fully utilized/optimized to provide an industry-leading level of customer service; oversee rental equipment availability
- Manage and leverage outside repair vendors to ensure timely repairs at the best pricing possible
- Address deficiencies and monitor issues within the operations; make maintenance-driven decisions, provide adequate parts inventories for driver-completed repairs, and ensure vendors follow DOT and safety-related policies
- Work creatively with multiple functional areas such as Safety, Operations, Business Intelligence (BI), Finance and Information Technology (IT) to develop data paths to identify trends that leverage industry benchmarks and provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurements
- Ensure local repairs are completed at lowest possible cost
- Provide cross-functional leadership to operations personnel such as drivers, supervisors, dispatchers, and operations managers; provide communication on maintenance procedures and receive feedback for continuous improvement opportunities on equipment specifications
What you’ll need to excel:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- 5 years of experience working in maintenance, transportation services, supply chain or procurement
- Previous supervisory experience in a team-focused environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT maintenance regulations and supply chain management techniques and processes
- A valid driver’s license
It’d be great if you also have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or a related field (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.)
- Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Dedicated Truckload experience
- Class B or A CDL
