The perfect candidate will be a seasoned people leader with a background in applied statistics, economics or a related quantitative field. You have strong business acumen, you are comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, and you have experience working with senior leaders and cross functional teams. You are a self-starter, an innovator, a strategic thinker, a data-driven problem solver, and a humble leaner. You have demonstrated success in using data science and ML to drive AI / ML based tooling and solutions for large organizations.
Responsibilities
Lead, and grow a team of data scientists with great technical skills, business acumen, and value fit
Partner with senior leaders to identify business opportunities and build KPIs
Partner with cross-functional teams (program management, etc) to drive transformative initiatives and make impact
Be the thought leader to build analytics strategy, provide transparency of roadmap, and drive sprint planning
Build shared vision, empower a team of missionaries, and deliver high quality outcome
Drive actionable analytics insights, build data science solutions, and measure impact
Manage roadmapping, sprint planning, stakeholder engagement, and remove blockers when needed
Be a great communicator to share complexed ideas simple, advocate team's work and coach data storytelling

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $201,300 - $268,400
Zone B: $181,200 - $241,600
Zone C: $167,100 - $222,800
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
