Responsibilities
We are looking for a senior ML engineering manager to join the Teamwork Graph team and lead a group of talented engineers who are responsible for helping build and deploy the knowledge graph of how teams work together. The graph is the foundational data layer Teamwork Graph logically representing all of a customer’s data, with edges/relationships to connect entities across feature and product boundaries. The Graph powers various new AI products such as Rovo, as well as enables Atlassian products to work better together. Checkout this clip from the recent founder keynote for more details. You will work closely with the Teamwork Graph leadership team to define and execute the vision and strategy for advanced graph querying and powering a quite of Graph + AI powered applications and experiences. You will also collaborate with the federated product teams and other central orgs to integrate the Teamwork knowledge deeply in various products such as Search, Jira, Confluence, and many upcoming ones.
Responsibilities:
Process and structure large amounts of graph data to power applications across Atlassian
Mentor and coach your team members on best practices, code quality, design patterns, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Hire, onboard, and retain top talent for your team and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, present technical concepts and results clearly and concisely, and solicit feedback and input from various stakeholders.
Creative use of generative AI and ML to process, structure, and reason over large amounts of data to power intelligent products
Experience:
5+ years of experience managing engineering teams running core AI/ML services at scale
Experience building and scaling business applications and systems using large amounts of data
Ability to communicate and explain complex technica; concepts to diverse audiences, craft a compelling story
Build generalizable platforms with a keen eye on empowering applications in product
Solid understanding of foundational ML concepts and Graphs
Experience working with LLM based applications or other ML powered products

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $229,300 - $305,700
Zone B: $206,300 - $275,100
Zone C: $190,300 - $253,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
