Position Compensation Range:
$111,000.00 - $190,000.00Pay Rate Type:

Primary Accountabilities
Handle litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
Analyzesfile as litigation progresses. Evaluate cases and seeks settlement as necessary.
Conduct discovery (e.g. written interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and depositions).
Conduct motion practice.
Draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation. Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities.
Advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal.
Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyzes how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.
May have or develop areas of specialty practice (e.g. special property, workers` compensation, environmental law, commercial coverage).
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions and discovery and deposing witnesses.
Demonstrated litigation experience to include trial experience.
Solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the jurisdiction in which they practice.
Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law.
Admitted to the state bar in the state where they are located or (1) admission to the bar within one year of hire for individuals who must pass a bar exam or portions of a bar exam to be admitted or (2) bar admission as soon as practicable but no later than 60 days of hire for individuals with diploma privilege or who are eligible for in-house counsel registration.
Juris Doctor
Significant experience in bodily injury insurance defense litigation to include premises liability and auto negligence.
Experience in first party property litigation and construction defect litigation beneficial.
Additional Specialized Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrated ability managing caseload autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability in working with legal administrative support staff via a centralized support model.
- Experience in litigating cases throughout Florida jurisdictions beneficial
