From fast, efficient check-in to smooth, relaxed boarding to on-time flight departure, OUR team is the backbone of Airport Passenger Processing enabling superior customer service to you and your fellow travelers. As a Software Developer you will support the application that safeguards the handling of the passenger and their baggage, in addition to the handling of their data and security while they reach their gate and are off to their final destination.

What YOU Will Do:

  • You will follow the IATA CUPPS Specification to develop an industry leading CUPPS platform for passenger processing.

  • You will become familiar with other industry Fast Travel Initiatives.

  • You will gather requirements.

  • You will design, develop, enhance, and install the software applications.

  • You will implement unit and automated tests cases.

  • You will participate in future product planning and direction.

  What YOU will Learn:

  • You will discover the procedures involved in processing passengers through airport operations for their flights.

  • You will gain exposure to Airport Operations. This includes things like biometrics, baggage processing and flight information display systems.

  • You will gain an understanding of how various airport passenger processing applications interrelate, and how the airport leverages this knowledge to streamline travel for greater speed and efficiency. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

  • Prior experience programming using JAVA with Eclipse

  • Demonstrated understanding of SOAP and XML within Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework

  • Prior experience developing multi-threaded applications

 Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Web-based application development, and experience in both client and server-side programming paradigms

  • Ability to effectively communicate the merits and drawbacks of various technical solutions in addition to devising innovative solutions for abstract challenges

  • Ability to describe and have some level of experience with DevOps, DevSecOps and CICD methodologies.

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.  

*This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.   

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
