Technology Aspect
Stellar Virtual does not currently provide all employees or contractors with the necessary equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) required for employment. Depending on your position, you may be assigned a company-issued device to use throughout your tenure of employment.

Position Overview

The Senior IT Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s identity and access management (IAM) systems, primarily using Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AD) and Google Workspace. The ideal candidate will ensure the secure and efficient operation of user authentication, account provisioning, and policy enforcement while maintaining a seamless user experience across platforms.


Essential Responsibilities 

  • Administer and support Azure AD environments, ensuring the integrity, security, and optimization of directory services.

  • Configure and manage users, groups, roles, and permissions within Azure AD.

  • Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and integrate with third-party applications.

  • Develop, implement, and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies and other security protocols.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure AD services, such as Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Identity Protection.

  • Maintain and support Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and hybrid identity environments.

  • Administer and support Google Workspace, including user accounts, groups, organizational units, and shared resources (e.g., Drive, Gmail, Calendar).

  • Configure and manage Google security policies and authentication mechanisms.

  • Integrate Google Workspace with external identity providers or systems.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to Google Workspace services and provide timely resolution.

  • Manage user lifecycle processes, including account provisioning, de-provisioning, and role assignment.

  • Enforce and monitor IAM security policies to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

  • Perform regular audits of IAM configurations, ensuring access control policies are aligned with security best practices.

  • Develop automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, Google Apps Script, and other automation frameworks.

  • Implement automated workflows for user provisioning, group management, and access reviews.

  • Conduct security assessments, identifying and mitigating risks related to identity and access management.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and implement necessary controls.

  • Assist in creating and maintaining IAM documentation, including runbooks and knowledge articles.

  • Monitor the health and performance of Azure AD and Google Workspace environments.

  • Generate and review security, compliance, and performance reports.

  • Work closely with IT support teams to provide second and third-tier support for Azure AD and Google Workspace issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions into existing and new systems.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Google Apps Script. 

  • Strong understanding of SSO, MFA, Conditional Access Policies, and IAM best practices.

  • Experience in configuring and managing hybrid cloud environments.

  • Solid understanding of security best practices related to identity management.

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Workspace Administrator.

  • Experience with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Azure AD Connect.

  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and data privacy regulations.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required. 

  • 3+ years of experience managing and supporting Azure Active Directory and Google Workspace environments is strongly preferred.
