Sr. INTEGRATION ENGINEER FOR 3DI, Heterogeneous Integration (HI) and other devices

Albany, NY

*This is not a fully remote role; regular attendance at the on-site office is required, flexible 2-days remote per week is permitted.

The role of the Sr. Module Integration Engineer (MI Engineer) focuses on process integration for 3DI, HI and other devices. In this key position in TEL Technology Center, America, LLC (TTCA), you will drive semiconductor technology development activities, particularly related to new materials and device architectures in the advanced packaging space, including validating 3DI technologies for sequential logic and BEOL advanced hybrid bonding schemes and TSV integration. Working closely with process engineers across TEL’s wide ranging tool sets, you will demonstrate and differentiate the competitive advantages of TEL's new technologies and play an important role in building process test capabilities, which involves creating new test vehicle design, establishing process flow, and developing analysis methods.

Responsibilities:

[Module Integration]

  • Lead 3DI/HI projects to ensure successful implementation.
  • Planning and establishing a strategy for integration technologies of 3DI and other devices to maximize TEL business opportunity.
  • Developing innovative processes utilizing TEL's process tools.
  • Establishing standardized process flows and analysis methods for accurate evaluations.
  • Making Integration Evaluation plans for TEL 3DI tools. managing lots for process split, inline metrology and electrical testing.
  • Conducting data analysis for processes, inline metrology, electrical tests, and physical analysis (TEM, EDX, etc.).
  • Timely reporting of evaluation results.

[Test Sample Support]

  • Providing supports for test sample requests from TEL internal organizations.
  • Developing new structures of test samples including discussion with requesters about target, spec etc.
  • Establishing process flows and measurements plan for test sample.

Typical Education and Experience:

  • U.S. work authorization is a mandatory requirement.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant semiconductor experience is required. A Master's or PhD degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor 3D integration is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a clean room environment is necessary.

Preferred Skills and Education:

  • Design of experiments, DOE planning. Lot splits management.
  • Proficiency in operating measurement and analysis tools, including inline CDSEM, auto electrical test prober, and cross-sectional SEM, is required. Training will be provided if necessary.
  • Prior experience in mask design preferred.
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%, is necessary for this role.
  • Effective self-management skills are required, and proficiency in teamwork and collaboration is essential.
  • Experience in project management is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities, are essential.
  • Knowledge of experimental design (DOE) and techniques for tool and process optimization is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Basic knowledge and proficiency in using personal computer systems, including MS Windows, MS Office, and networks, is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, particularly using Excel, JMP, or other statistical software, is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Salary Ranges$136,750.06 - $169,850.01

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.  In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.  The talent advisor can share more details about total compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
