This position is fully remote with minor/occasional travel. While based out of the Montana Corporate office, the role can reside in any of the contiguous United States. Only those who fully meet the required education, experience, and skill for the job will be considered.
The Senior Human Resource Generalist serves as a subject matter expert on human resources related programs, providing policy interpretation, education, guidance, and consultation to their assigned groups under the direction of HR management. This position works closely with and supports the work of the department to ensure their assigned area of responsibility is accomplished with efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. This position will offer a wide level of support across areas of performance management, employee engagement, employee investigations/grievance, training and development, safety and risk management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. This position will drive consistency in the application and integration of policies, procedures and protocols across all companies and is responsible to monitor practices to ensure employees comply with regulatory, Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations. The position requires a high degree of customer service and confidentiality, as well as a working knowledge of the programs and policies existing across S&K and is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional and positive level within the organization. The senior generalist must be a role model for employee goodwill and is a front-facing position representing HR to the business.
- Provides daily human resource support to the business and responds to HR inquiries submitted to HR with a one-day turn-around and documented for HR recordkeeping.
- Partners with and supports managers in developing and updating job descriptions and following AAP goals and objectives. Supports activity to hire the best talent for each job opening.
- Reports to the HR Ops Manager or HRD to ensure key HR initiatives are communicated and understood and that HR projects are successfully completed timely and as planned.
- Responsible to know, understand, and apply all HR policies and programs for any given situation as well as knowing and conveying how policies/procedures relate to or are supportive of federal and state employment law/regulation.
- Responsible for the accurate, timely, and effective data entry for employee activities such as sister-to-sister company transfers, terminations, promotion or demotion, benefit setup, affirmative action planning, on boarding, coaching and educating managers, and other employee actions.
