Summary
Lightsource bp is currently seeking a full-time Senior HSE+C Advisor with the ability to complement an already established HSE+C team and the ability to become a strong presence and an impactful member in driving the health and safety of our employees and contractors and care for the environment for the company. This person will have the ability to interact with, and influence staff and contractors at all levels while taking a proactive approach to safety and compliance. The Senior HSE+C Advisor will represent the HSE+C United States Asset Services team within LSbp, and the entire Lightsource bp global organization with external partners and stakeholders, ensuring HSE provisions are in place and the sites are following appropriate Regulatory and Contract requirements.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead and coach the US Asset Services team on HSE performance and risk management,
• Promote a just culture and integration of continuous improvement,
• Administer a systematic HSE pre-qualification and oversights process for supplier risk mitigation of Lsbp contractors,
• Conduct routine on-site HSE safety observations, inspections, and audits in line with agreed schedule,
• Support internal safety management system audits and processes,
• Arrange and participate in HSE design risk reviews, HSE pre-operations workshops, and ongoing business performance reviews of O&M contractors,
• Actively monitor O&M contractor HSE compliance highlighting any deficiencies and tracking improvements,
• Support development and delivery of HSE training to Lightsource bp employees
• Work in line with any requirements outlined within applicable contracts,
• Ensure project level O&M environmental regulatory compliance,
• Oversee O&M companies on incident management, investigations, audits, inspections, and other HSE processes,
• Complete any required HSE reporting and lessons learned exercises,
• Work within the Lsbp bp HSE information management system and processes,
• Always maintain a professional and proactive approach, and
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by relevant stakeholders.
Knowledge
• Excellent working knowledge of United States HSE federal and state level regulations and standards,
• Understands medium and high voltage electrical hazards and risk mitigation methods,
• Intermediate PC skills with experience in Microsoft office products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook,
• Advanced experience in HSE risk assessment and control methods,
• Practical and experienced in operating under an HSE management system (ISO 45001, ANSI Z10), and
• Ability to administer HSE requirements and manage expectations of contracting partners.
Qualifications
• Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental or equivalent, and
• Professional HSE certification preferred.
Experience
• Over 4 years’ experience as a HSE professional
