Mason is looking for an ambitious, knowledgeable, organized, and process-driven Senior HR Generalist to drive and own the HR function for Mason’s ~70 employees primarily based in the US and a small team in the APAC region. 

This role is responsible for setting the Human Resources (HR) strategy and leading the tactical and operational activities required to create an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing workforce. You will leverage your startup expertise and experience to assist in driving programs around people practices and HR operations to ensure Mason has a best in class HR program that aligns with the business goals

Location: Seattle, Washington (On-site)

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and employees, understanding the business/people needs and developing and executing HR strategies and programming to support them.
  • Own management of leaves of absence such as FMLA, WA PFML, CA CFRA, Pregnancy Disability, STD, LTD, SDI, and other forms of job-protected leave and wage replacement benefits 
  • Ensure administrative record keeping and employment practices are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee/manage compensation and benefits administration, ensuring that compensation and benefits are benchmarked to market standards.
  • With guidance from Legal Counsel (as necessary), lead   investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Ensure the integrity of data in HR systems (employment status, compensation, promotions etc.). Prepare all required federal and state required periodic filings to agencies such as OSHA or the State of California.
  • Maintain and audit personnel files including record-keeping, I-9 verifications, employment verifications, work visas, and electronic labor law posters.
  • Provide performance evaluation and management guidance to managers including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • At least 6-8 years of hands-on HR experience (at least 2 years, preferrable a small technology organization), including onboarding, HR operations, organizational design/effectiveness, performance management and leadership development.
  • Direct experience driving HR initiatives; 
  • Proven ability to drive strategy, partner with cross functional leaders while leading the technical know-how of HR activities.
  • Demonstrate agility with people processes, while willing to do the tactical work necessary to support the team.
  • Savvy communicator with local, global, and external partners to build trust, be a change agent, take decisions, and resolve issues.
  • Strong experience working with enterprise HRIS systems.
  • Experience working with PEO and/or GEO global workforce partners.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD

In addition to the base salary, full-time employees are eligible to participate in Mason’s annual discretionary bonus plan and equity plan, subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay based on exemption status. Total compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate including their skills, experience level, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.

Pay Range$120,000—$140,000 USD
