The Senior Human Resources Consultant serves as a senior and at times lead role in the Strategic Initiatives function of Human Resources in an academic unit.
The Senior Human Resources Consultant may serve as a lead to help advise on strategy, structure, people, and systems. The Senior Human Resources Consultant leads and counsels HR Specialists and HR Consultants and provides high level support to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and unit leadership. The Senor Human Resources Consultant serves as an escalation point, makes presentations to leaders, makes decisions on behalf of HRBP, and leads special projects.
Key Responsibilities
Leads the execution of operational work within the unit and may provide leadership to/supervise other HRCs. This role supports the HRBP in driving strategy and in leading the HR team and senior business leaders and associates in developing and executing HR operations, key programs and initiatives and advises, influences and develops strategies to drive unit business success. Partners with Centers of Expertise (COEs) in talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, employee and labor relations, and organizational design and effectiveness. Ensures Workday transaction management and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
6 years of relevant work experience.
Desired Education/Experience:
8-12 years of relevant experience.
Advanced degree or certifications.
Experience within the organization or in Higher Education is preferred.
Experience in workforce planning, faculty recruitment, employee relations, state and federal employment laws, and performance management.
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise effectively.
Team-oriented management style.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
The work location for this position is remote within the state of Ohio with the expectation that the person in this role will attend meetings on the Columbus Campus on an as needed basis (estimated to be 1-2 days per month).
