Our headquarters are located in San Francisco and we have additional offices in Knoxville, TN and New York City with employees working remotely in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT , VA, WA, WI. All employees are required to have permanent residency in one of these states. Job Title: Senior Full Stack Engineer 

Job Intro: 

Verana Health is looking for a senior full stack engineer who embodies tenacity, architectural mastery, independence and exceptional teamwork. As a senior front end engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining our user interfaces. We’re looking for an individual with an in-depth understanding of creating scalable, robust and user-centric front end architecture.

Applicants should be proficient in current best practices around front-end and back-end development as well as possess deep knowledge on analytical and transactional data handling.  

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality, user-centric interfaces and components
  • Architect, build and maintain high-performance, robust and scalable services
  • Work closely with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective user interfaces
  • Lead technical design discussions and propose innovative solutions
  • Guide, coach and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to break down work, deliver new features and write, review and test code
  • Ensure the implementation of the agreed upon architecture and infrastructure
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, problem solving and standards.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of real world experience on large scale React applications or related frameworks (angular, vue.js, etc)
  • 5+ years of experience in front end technologies including javascript, CSS and HTML
  • 5+ years of real world experience on large scale Java and JavaScript applications or comparable languages.
  • Experience with responsive design and understanding of usability and accessibility principles
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Mastery and real world experience on multiple database platforms (RDBMS, NoSQL).
  • Expertise with the AWS ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of common data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API designs and microservices architecture

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with healthcare related products
  • Familiarity with scripting languages
  • Familiarity with front-end build tools such as Webpack or Babel
  • Knowledge of AWS services
  • Knowledge of SDLC and agile development processes
  • Knowledge of TypeScript
  • Strong testing ethic - familiarity with JUnit, Jest, and Enzyme or React Testing Library
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Docker, Docker Compose, and/or Kubernetes

We pay based on a market-based approach, supported with robust data and in alignment with the compensation of our existing team. We construct our compensation ranges based on the US national average but your pay may vary depending on your location and the cost of living index for that geographic area. In determining an offer, base salary will also be based on experience, qualifications, skills and market conditions.
