Senior Financial Analyst II

We are looking for a self-motivated and analytical Senior Financial Analyst II to be part of our growing finance team. This team member will be a hands-on contributor to the company’s Corporate FP&A function. They are responsible for developing financial forecasts and models that help the company plan for the future, make informed business decisions, and allocate resources effectively.

The Senior Financial Analyst II is responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis by conducting detailed financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. Preparing and presenting financial reports to management, including variance analysis and performance metrics. Data Analysis by analyzing financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving financial performance. Collaboration with various departments to provide financial insights and support for business initiatives and projects. 

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Play a lead role in the development of NerdWallet’s corporate forecast and the overall financial outlook
  • Assess known financial opportunities and risks, analyze business metric trends, and support management and Board of Directors reporting 
  • In partnership with the business-facing FP&A team, support the monthly and quarterly close process, as well as annual and strategic planning
  • Be the financial business partner to the G&A departments: support monthly forecasting and annual planning and provide strategic financial support for department-specific projects  
  • Support the Investor Relations team through real-time and quarterly analysis of financial and non-financial trends
  • Assist in the maintenance of our long-term financial model to ensure key strategic objectives are on track
  • Provide actionable recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, and contribute to process improvements

  • High attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy in your work 
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint or Google Sheets and Slides
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Eagerness to build complex financial models 
  • Ability to work across departments and levels to solve problems and achieve results 
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP 
  • 5+ years of work experience in a finance capacity
