Senior Financial Analyst - Digital

The Senior Financial Analyst plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and support within FP&A and our business partners. You know how to be curious about opportunities and how to be real with feedback and support. Analysts play an essential role in developing and executing the company vision by supporting decision-making, planning, and driving results. You will understand business operations, developing tools, metrics, and processes to provide information that drives action and improvements. You will ensure information is accurate, relevant, and actionable while being understood by a wide audience of stakeholders.
You will be comfortable regularly interacting with all levels of staff and provide them with insightful, forward looking, reporting and analysis. Lush is a true vertically integrated business including Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Digital, and Admin streams. While all streams are linked, this role is primarily focused on the Administration teams. You will play a key role in all budgeting and forecasting workflows for these teams.

Reporting to the Head of Digital and working directly with the Head of FP&A, the Sr Financial Analyst undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial business partner to the Digital teams, providing quality, relevant, and timely financial support to the stream and the organization. Focusing on impact assessments and return on investments for projects and strategic initiatives.
- This role supports sales growth, working closely with the Head of Digital Ops and global Digital Financial partner to help maximise sales through financial models and analytical support to help inform decision making.
- Responsible for reporting and analysis on the performance of Wholesale, Marketplace, and Omnichannel sales channels. Ensuring the business understands opportunities and performance.
- Monitor real-time data to identify potential costs and sales risks and work closely with key stakeholders to address risks and identify opportunities.
- Be a strong communicator, turning data into easily understood trends and impacts that can be actioned by the business.
- Lead month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for Digital, providing insights on financial performance and key underlying drivers, changes against the plan, and upcoming opportunities and risks.
- Lead monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of forecasting models to ensure accurate financial plans.
- Partner and collaborate with Supply Chain analysts to help assess the performance and effectiveness of Digital Fulfilment teams and its impact on our digital customers.
- Develop and manage reporting tools to meet day-to-day data needs for key team members, empowering the team to make data-driven sales decisions and understand performance opportunities.
- Proactively review and develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how those metrics drive financial improvements.
- Improve finance knowledge across the business by effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders.
- Provide peer support, guidance, and development opportunities to team members.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of processes and deliverables.
- Provide support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required.
You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience.
- Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills, with an in-depth knowledge of financial statements and drivers that impact them.
- A proven, collaborative, and inclusive approach to business support.
- Extremely high proficiency and experience within Microsoft Excel.
- Proactive approach and initiative.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Excitement and commitment to learn, understand, and relate to Lush’s core brand values.
- Located within Toronto, ON or Vancouver, BC
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other ERP) and/or Adaptive forecasting software is considered an asset.
- Experience in direct e-commerce sales, wholesale, or marketplace
- Experience in dashboarding, analysis and visualizations through PowerBI.
- Experience in vertically integrated operations.
- Formal education or relevant experience in project management.
- Accounting designation preferred.
