The Field Service Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the needs of our client, which directly impacts patient health and overall well-being.

This position is part of the Service Organization, located in the Birmingham, AL area working fully remote supporting a territory around that region. You will be a part of the Field Service Engineering Team and report to the District Manager responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.  If you thrive in a fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class service organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.

  • Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter’s customers, along with technical training on products and the opportunity to mentor and lead others.

  • Maintain customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner, ordering repair parts, and adhering to cycle times.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Associate degree (in Science, Technical, Biomedical, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or related) or equivalent military experience (Applicants with applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis)

  • 3+ years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% overnight, within assigned territory of Alabama: Huntsville, Birmingham; Montgomery, Mobile, Dothan, and Memphis, TN and Pensacola, FL

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lb (tools, replacement parts, consumables etc.).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Previous experience in advanced troubleshooting

  • Previous experience developing relationships with internal and external customers

The hourly range for this role is $36.05 - $43.27 ($75,000-$90,000 annually). This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
