Senior Energy Markets Consultant (August 2025 Grad; Remote)

As a Senior Energy Markets Consultant with ICF’s Energy Advisory practice, you will have the opportunity to advance energy and resource planning, decarbonization strategies and environmental policy analysis for utilities, think tanks, NGOs and energy industry stakeholders across North America. Your projects will be cross-cutting, involving technology, strategy, planning and environmental policy compliance. You will have an opportunity to apply your electric sector experience and knowledge and interact with experts and clients while building content knowledge and consulting skills.
This is a full-time position that will begin in or by September 2025. Work may be completed from any U.S. location.
As a Senior Energy Markets Consultant, you will:
Work as part of a team supporting clients in navigating challenges related to electric policy analysis on the state and federal level, energy sector decarbonization strategies, grid resilience and resource planning.
Help provide strategic and technical support for clients tasked with planning and operating the electric grid of the future amidst changing policy environments and evolving market conditions pertaining to increasing renewable penetration, electric demand growth, decarbonization targets and large-scale infrastructure investments.
Prepare and develop analysis, research, reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
Coordinate within and across ICF teams in complex engagements.
Engage with clients in project meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Energy, Engineering, Economics, Environmental Management, Business or a related discipline.
3+ years of experience in energy consulting, electric utilities, or similar.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Master’s Degree in Energy, Engineering, Economics, Environmental Management, Business or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in energy consulting, electric utilities, or similar.
Experience relating to electric system and resource planning
3+ years of experience analyzing energy policy on a regional, state, and federal level, including federal policies on electric sector emission reductions, state-level clean energy targets and utility decarbonization goals.
3+ years of experience with power system modeling such as Plexos, PROMOD, Encompass or other comparable models, including training of Junior staff on modeling concepts and applications.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
