Senior Director, Supply Chain Strategy


 

What you will be doing:

This position is responsible for leadership of organic and inorganic growth initiatives for Supply Chain Services. Specifically, the Senior Director is tasked with leading project management and driving implementation of strategic projects and initiatives in the execution of supply chain strategy.  The position works closely with the VP, SCS Strategy and the President of SCS to lead a variety of strategic initiatives (i.e., projects and strategic partnerships / acquisitions). The Senior Director is responsible for communicating status reports to supply chain leaders, e-team, and BOD as appropriate. 

The Senior Director is accountable for leading large cross-functional project teams and directing stakeholders in association with strategic initiatives and integration efforts. The Senior Director will have accountability for meeting identified timelines and managing expenses to budget.  The Senior Director will also be expected to manage the efforts of cross-functional teams.  The Senior Director will have sufficient business acumen to resolve complex issues in conjunction with Legal and Compliance teams. The Senior Director will provide routine reporting on the progress of key initiatives.

The Senior Director is also responsible for working with business leaders on development and incubation of new strategic initiatives, partnerships or acquisitions including problem identification, planning, obtaining resources, legal review, supervising any contractors, and transitioning the initiative into business operations.

In addition to providing project management ownership, the Senior Director is expected to have the business acumen required to provide operations support for the program. The scope of this position covers identifying and tracking project resources, developing schedules, coordinating the activities of all stakeholders, and accountability for meeting timelines.  The Senior Director will create, or supervise the creation of, preliminary financial models for new initiatives.

The Senior Director will lead diligence for potential acquisitions and serve as the IMO leader for integration planning with various functional areas.  In addition, the Senior Director will be responsible for analyzing revenue, expenses, forecasts, and operating metrics for new strategic partnerships or acquisitions.  The Senior Director will provide competitive analysis for the GPO and will scan the market to identify potential acquisition or partnership targets.

The Senior Director will have management responsibility for the Manager, Supply Chain Strategy.  The Senior Director will provide training and day to day direction to the Manager. 

Lastly, the Senior Director will assist with other ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives that arise to support Supply Chain Services.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1– 30%

  • Project management and tracking

  • Strategic initiatives

  • Lead the development of project plans for key Supply Chain strategic initiatives

  • Work with initiative owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations

  • Serve as initiative owner

  • Bring cross-functional teams together and facilitate meetings to achieve consensus on key issues, risks, or roadblocks

  • Obtain monthly project plan updates from strategic initiative owners and provide updates to supply chain leaders

  • Manage task execution including issue tracking, resolution and change management throughout the project

  • Lead problem resolution to ensure the project stays on track according to plan

  • Supply Chain acquisitions

  • Serve as the IMO leader for acquisition integration planning

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure integration work is on track

  • Prepare all integration related updates and content for meetings

  • Identify any integration related risks and facilitate meetings to resolve

  • Serve as a key point of contact for the leadership team of the acquired company

Responsibility #2 – 10%

  • Financial analysis and reporting

  • Analyze financial information (revenue, expenses, forecasts, operating metrics) related to new business initiatives, partnerships, and acquisitions and provide insights and trending to VP Supply Chain Strategy

  • Develop and update revenue forecasts for new strategic partnerships or acquisitions

  • Reconcile reported monthly financials with the forecast

  • Develop a reporting routine for the leaders of new business initiatives

  • Develop ad hoc financial reports for the new business initiatives / partnerships and acquisitions as needed

  • Responsible for managing supply chain strategy and product planning department expense budgets and forecasting

Responsibility #3 – 20%

  • Supply chain operational support

  • Lead member committees or advisory groups

  • Identify and implement initiatives to increase GPO revenue

  • Provide operational expertise and support once a strategic initiative is launched and operational

  • Collaborate with Sr. Director, Supplier Marketing to support supply chain supplier relationship development and contract uptake

Responsibility #4 – 30%

  • Strategic initiatives

  • Lead supply chain strategic initiatives

  • Supervise and manage temporary staff, contractors, and consultants as necessary

  • Engage stakeholders from various departments and business units to identify project deliverables and work through potential issues

  • Develop project plans as needed and monitor progress

  • Present proposed initiatives to supply leaders and provide regular updates on project status

Responsibility #5 – 10%

  • Management

  • Provide day to day management for the Manager, Supply Chain strategy

  • Provide oversight of the semi-annual Economic Outlook member publication and other associated ad hoc requests for content

  • Provide training, ongoing feedback and performance reviews to the Manager

Education:

Bachelors (Required)

Working Conditions: Remote


 

Travel Requirements: Travel 1-20% within the US


 

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $125,000 - $231,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
