The Role
Are you an experienced oncology leader looking to contribute to an innovative and growing organization? At Genmab, we’re seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Planning & Effectiveness to drive cross-functional communication, alignment of key initiatives, and strategic business planning within the U.S. market. This role will serve as Chief of Staff to the US, General Manager focusing on evolving operating models, building new capabilities, optimizing resources, and leading key U.S. business strategies. Additionally, you will act as a liaison for pipeline assets and business development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Represent U.S. Operations in cross-functional and global franchise leadership meetings, escalating critical issues to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with the SVP to manage U.S. Oncology Leadership team activities, strategic events, and annual planning.
- Oversee resource tracking, including headcount and budgets, in partnership with Finance and HR.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for board meetings, investor relations, and other high-level engagements
- Identify and implement process improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity across the organization.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Stay updated on biotech industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes to inform strategic planning.
- Represent U.S. interests in business development assessments and co-promotion opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred).
- 7–10 years of combined experience in pharma consulting, sales, marketing, analytics, or operations.
- Proven success in product launches and commercial support through various development stages.
- Strategic decision-making and the ability to balance speed, rigor, risk, and governance.
- Strong leadership in building resilient teams and fostering performance-driven cultures.
- Establishing strategic direction and driving continuous organizational transformation by building a strong, adaptable organization.
- Cultivating collaboration and relationships to align common goals, engage teams, and establish trusted external networks for mutual benefit.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior role as Chief of Staff as a biotech/pharma executive
- Oncology sales, marketing, or consulting within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Project management in commercial operations.
- Experience leading teams and driving organizational transformation.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Where you will work
- This role will be based in our Plainsboro, NJ campus and your remote location.
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$220,000.00---$330,000.00The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
