Senior Director of Project Controls

Summary
The Senior Director of Project Controls is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and providing global direction for project control functions within the organization. This position develops the tools and manages the project control resources that ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. As well as developing standards for project execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, cost control, scheduling, risk management, and possess strong leadership and analytical skills. This role requires proven track record of establishing and growing a project controls organization in parallel to supporting active project portfolio.
Responsibilities
Establishing Global Standards
- Development of Project Controls standards for use on Capital projects across network
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that outline key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure schedules are realistic and achievable.
- Monitor progress against the schedule, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Cost Control and Budget Management
- Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures are within approved limits.
- Track project costs and financial performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project financial performance.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans accordingly.
- Ensure all project team members are aware of potential risks and their roles in mitigating them.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify and address any issues.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Communication and Reporting
- Provide regular status updates to senior management and other stakeholders on project progress, risks, and financial performance.
- Prepare detailed project reports, including variance analysis, cost performance, and schedule adherence.
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in project controls, project management, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Proven track record of developing project controls processes and successfully managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCP (Certified Cost Professional) are highly desirable.

Compensation Range: $140,000.00 - $210,000.00, plus bonus.
