The Senior Director of Medical Excellence and Disease Leadership plays a pivotal role in driving scientific leadership and clinical differentiation across Danaher Diagnostics’ portfolio. This role is responsible for aligning and integrating the Medical and Scientific Affairs (MedSci) teams within Danaher and ensuring that medical strategies are harmonized across franchises to accelerate product innovation, clinical adoption, and market access.

The Senior Director will lead efforts to position Danaher as a trusted source of medical expertise and will work closely with disease area leaders to drive clinical excellence, innovation, and scientific rigor across multiple therapeutic areas.

This position also includes developing and executing strategies that strengthen Danaher Diagnostics’ external scientific presence and relationships with key stakeholders, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), pharma partners, and regulatory bodies. The Vice President will help integrate evidence generation strategies across the company to ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity and clinical impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Medical Excellence & Integrated Medical Plans: Lead and execute medical excellence programs, aligning teams to deliver integrated medical plans across diagnostics franchises (NDD, IDAC, Oncology) while driving product differentiation through scientific rigor and clinical value narratives.
  • Evidence Generation: Drive development and implementation of integrated evidence plans that support regulatory approval, clinical adoption, and reimbursement across all diagnostic franchises.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Support MedSci teams within Danaher Diagnostics by establishing common governance practices and fostering knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • External Engagement: Elevate Danaher’s scientific profile by leading strategic KOL engagements, symposia, and partnerships to accelerate clinical adoption and strengthen co-development opportunities.
  • Organizational Leadership & Capability Building: Lead and develop high-performing Medical & Scientific Affairs teams, establish governance and KPIs, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous innovation.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related field; advanced business or medical education is a plus.
  • Experience: 15+ years in medical affairs, clinical development, or related fields within diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading medical strategies, driving evidence generation, and working in matrixed, cross-functional teams.
  • Regulatory and Clinical Expertise: Strong experience in regulatory processes, clinical trials, KOL engagement, and scientific communications.
  • Skills: Expertise in disease management, clinical product development, market access in diagnostics, excellent communication skills, and strong leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the diagnostics or medical device industry, especially within Danaher’s key franchises (NDD, IDAC, Oncology).
  • Familiarity with AI and multimodal biomarkers in evidence generation.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory and payer landscapes and the ability to align strategies accordingly.
  • Advanced business or medical education (MBA, MSc, etc.) is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $250,000 - $275,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
