Job Description Summary

Job Profile Summary
The Senior Director of Installation and Payroll Services will provide leadership and strategic direction to Retirement Operations client transition services, data conversion, and payroll services management teams and staff. Accountable for onboarding, conversions, payroll processes, and the overall customer experience for new and existing clients across multiple market segments. Act as a thought leader and contribute to strategically important initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-range functional objectives and strategies to meet department demands based on sales cycles and marketplace fluctuations.
  • Work with the Pricing team to evaluate new business opportunities and determine the feasibility of writing and administering the business. Partner and consult with Sales on new prospect situations by regularly participating in or delegating managers for team sales presentations. Present information on the transition process and administrative capabilities during finals and due diligence meetings.
  • Work with various departments within the organization to improve service and efficiency across the department.
  • Monitor and leverage relationships with the sales team, client management, and external partners.
  • Ensure that client and internal and external partner relationships are developed and maintained by establishing and meeting client and stakeholder expectations. 
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the Installation and Payroll department to ensure timely and quality service to new and inforce clients. Review and evaluate management, employee development, and the analysis of quality controls.
  • Work with Operations, Sales, and Client Relationship leaders on projects related to new client onboarding, payroll integration and data services; manage IT tickets to ensure timely response and resolution.
  • Recommend revisions to policies and procedures as appropriate based on findings from internal audits,
  • compliance reviews, regulatory examinations, investigations, and industry trends.
  • Approve escalations for department related issues. Oversee and monitor customer service risk mitigation for department, including managing internal and external customer/client expectations. 
  • Work closely with payroll and benefit administration companies to develop conversion and data integration strategies to improve functionality and/or additional service capabilities.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop materials and deliver on commitments/identified needs.
  • Provide field support when onboarding and/or payroll integration is key to a sale or retention.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of current and emerging trends within the retirement industry
  • Oversee department budget and initiate cost saving initiatives as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the defined contribution/retirement industry, or relevant background in client management/onboarding and/or payroll services in a corporate environment (typically 12 or more years)
  • Leadership experience managing multiple teams
  • Ability to lead others through change in a complex environment
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills to interact, influence, and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to grasp technical and complex concepts, and convey to staff and internal/external customers
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Advanced skills using analytical tools and MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • LOMA, CEBS designations

Working Conditions

  • Office or hybrid office/remote environment
  • Moderate travel

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $175,000-$190,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
