Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Senior Development Officer, Individual Annual Giving serves as a key member of the YMCA GTA Fundraising team and is responsible for executing on the Broad Based program and leading the stewardship of Broad Based donors. This role works with key internal and external partners to incorporate Broad Based programs into overall digital strategies. They will contribute to the next major campaign that will align with priorities in the Ignite the Light strategic plan, effectively contribute and strengthen the organization’s overall fundraising capacity, and focus on the growth of the individual giving donor base and revenue. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage sourcing of content and coordination of creative briefs and approvals, data file preparation, budgets and revenue projections for Broad Based appeals
  • Establish and monitor metrics for broad-based giving based on industry benchmarks
  • Contribute to integrated fundraising strategies that employ print, digital marketing and social media tactics
  • Support the development and execution of e-campaigns
  • Assist with the strategy and development of digital content as it relates to the Y blog, Association newsletters, websites and social posts based on priorities of Broad-Based giving and the communication needs of the Fundraising Department
  • Accountable for execution of robust donor journeys to ensure a remarkable donor experience and increase renewal rates year over year 
  • Ensure tactics and actions are recorded in the data management system (Raiser’s Edge) to support accurate reporting and ability to inform future strategy for Broad-Based and Leadership donors
  • Responsible for identification of donor segments and development of strategies unique to their giving
  • Stay abreast of sector trends and bring new ideas and opportunities forward to support goal of building long-term donor relationships
  • Support the Manager, Development to create cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for Leadership Annual Giving (LAG) Individual donors
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Prospect Research to identify, qualify and assign new LAG Individual prospects
  • Contribute to solicitation and stewardship of LAG Individual gifts through content development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You bring: 

  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, including success in achieving personal revenue targets
  • Demonstrated experience with creative, execution and reporting for direct mail & digital fundraising campaigns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, focused and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office
  • Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
  • Evidence of sound judgement, interpersonal skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and creativity
  • Confidentiality and discretion are mandatory
  • Working towards CFRE designation is an asset
  • Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
