Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level graphic designer to join the Her Campus Media team full-time in a remote capacity starting immediately. As part of our award-winning design team, you’ll work on diverse projects ranging from advertising & marketing campaigns on behalf of our clients, to designing key art for major editorial features, and more. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to showcase your creativity and expertise while actively contributing to client-facing initiatives, integrating performance insights into design decisions, and designing innovative solutions for a wide range of stakeholder needs. Embrace a dynamic role where you’ll use your expertise in UX design principles and mastery of tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite to craft engaging user experiences that drive tangible and impactful results. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop advertising and marketing campaigns, as well as creative content for various platforms including web and social channels

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to serve in-house branding and communication needs

  • Create innovative, unique and effective advertising executions based on internal and external insights 

  • Identify, research, and implement relevant design trends with a distinct focus on UX innovations and best practices

  • Collaborate with Product to integrate user research, competitive analysis, and data-driven insights into the design team’s projects

  • Present and defend strategic design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval

  • This role reports to the VP, Brand and Product Innovation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field

  • 2-3 years of graphic design experience in client-facing environments such as advertising agencies or media brands

  • Present a diverse portfolio highlighting pixel-accurate UX solutions and demonstrating skill in user-centered design, interaction design and visual design principles

  • Strong background in digital, social, and web design

  • Follows the latest in user-centric design best practices, keeps dynamic type, interactions, and accessible color palettes top of mind

  • Full proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Excellent communication skills for articulating and pitching design concepts confidently

  • Understanding of business and client objectives, with an interest in meeting and adapting to them

  • Comfortable providing constructive design critiques and fostering creativity in team environments

  • Willingness to be bold, experimental, and take risks with design work

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams

  • Preferred experience with Squarespace, Wordpress, and Ceros

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus

Compensation Target: $70,000
