Responsible for maintaining, improving, and scaling the methodology and metrics for Bitsight’s Security Rating SaaS product suite. Contribute to the development and maintenance of ratings representative of cybersecurity posture – in specific contexts like Network, Application, and System Security – based on a working knowledge of relevant Information Security concepts. Researching and constructing methodologies for quantifying organizational cybersecurity postures from various open and commercially sourced datasets. Developing methodologies to assess cybersecurity posture from raw data. Working competently with data at the Internet scale. Developing metrics to measure cybersecurity performance and exposure. Leveraging various mathematical and statistical techniques to devise cybersecurity ratings. Creating models to assess cybersecurity risk. Contribute to the development and maintenance of production-level code for the Bitsight Data Pipeline. Helping to improve Bitsight’s ability to assign Internet assets to organizations. Creating informative analytics to help customers understand their cybersecurity posture. Working with the Marketing team to develop data-driven marketing content. Working with the Product and Engineering teams to get new ideas in front of customers.
Position is fixed location based in Boston, MA office; however, 100% telecommuting permitted.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience with applied computational algorithms and applied statistical methodologies from peer reviewed literature.
Experience must include:
Two (2) years of experience with the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
Big data stack (Spark, Hadoop)
Small data stack (RDBMS, SQL)
Software package/library development
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process tools (version control, JIRA)
Machine learning or statistics or data-driven science
