The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to be employee #2 in our Data & Insights organization, in this role you will report to the Director, Data Analytics + Insights. You will partner with stakeholders across the company to leverage analytics that drive business growth. While you will be supporting the entire business, your core stakeholders will be Operations, Customer Experience, and Finance. You will be responsible for both finding answers to salient business questions as well as helping surface key insights that drive growth. Caraway strives to create a culture of employees who are comfortable and can self-service many of their data needs — you will be a key player in enabling this and evangelizing our data-first culture.
Who You Are:
You are a resourceful, curious, and a strategic thinker who thrives on solving complex problems. You enjoy problem solving, finding the answers, and helping stakeholders connect the dots. You have experience working with ecommerce (preferably omni-channel) businesses, your insights have informed business strategy, and you’ve found ways to support sales channel growth. You’re comfortable presenting data in a way that is digestible to non-technical stakeholders and you’re able to provide recommendations based on your findings. You have an excellent understanding of ecommerce and the KPIs used to inform success. You’ve worked with reseller data before and feel comfortable working with data from Amazon Seller Central and ERPs such as Netsuite or Fulfil. Responsibilities:
- Data infrastructure & modeling
- Contribute to and develop data infrastructure that supports scalability, integrity, and sustainable pipelines.
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of Caraway’s analytics stack, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for all data product stakeholders.
- Data visualization & reporting
- Create and enhance dashboards that empower self-service analytics, data-driven decision-making, and accurate reporting.
- Develop core KPI tracking with stakeholders and develop goals and thresholds for each cross-functional team.
- Analysis & data education
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to better understand our omni-channel business, quantifying product performance and customer behaviors across channels, supporting inventory and sales forecasting, and identifying supply chain optimizations.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover insights, optimize strategies, and generate actionable recommendations across departments to drive growth.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- 4+ years of experience in DTC, E-commerce, or Consumer industries as an analyst in operations, growth, or product
- 2+ years of experience with identifying and communicating data-driven insights across audiences.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- SQL fluency with a deep understanding of relational databases, data structures, and efficiency. Bonus points for snowflake & dbt experience.
- Proficiency in modern BI tools such as Looker, Sigma, or Tableau
- Attention to detail with a penchant for rigorous QA
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 - Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors determining the base pay at offer, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, experience. This range provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
