JOB SUMMARY

Code.org’s Research, Evaluation, and Data (RED) Team plays a critical role in shaping our strategic decisions and helping us achieve our mission. We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Data Analyst to join our team.

We have millions of student and teacher users, all of whom generate data. As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll be leading analytics workstreams. You will work with internal stakeholders to ask critical questions about our work and then define data models and metrics to track our performance. You will continuously improve our data pipelines, ensuring our analytics layer is built in a scalable and sustainable way.

A great applicant is passionate and excited about our mission, can independently scope and manage data projects with multiple stakeholders, and has experience with the full-stack data ops and analytics pipeline. If you're the type of person who loves to ask questions and also has the skills to answer those questions, we can't wait to meet you!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Own analytics projects from conception through execution. For instance: writing a spec for a new way to measure teacher effectiveness, proposing a measure, working with leadership to achieve sign-off, and then releasing it as a data model in our analytics layer
  • Build on and continuously improve our analytics layer in dbt, with an eye to optimizing performance and scalability
  • Identify trends in our metrics and independently ask and answer questions about possible drivers
  • Work closely with end-user teams to help them get value from organizational data. This means both serving as a strategic partner and responding to ad hoc requests for data and analyses, hosting office hours, and editing Tableau dashboards.

  • Experience leading and managing quantitative or statistical analysis projects with a high impact to the organization
  • Experience building alignment between technical and non-technical leaders
  • The ability to approach problems creatively and find novel solutions
  • Strong documentation and verbal communication skills

We prefer candidates who also have:
