About the Work:

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team and partner directly with our finance teams to provide financial insights and data-driven decision support. You'll collaborate across departments, with a particular focus on finance, to develop and interpret key financial metrics and democratize access to data for strategic decision-making. We're seeking analysts who are eager to dive into financial data, solve complex problems, and drive impactful outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Be the main subject matter expert for our Finance team to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights that inform business decisions.
  • Be the bridge between stakeholders and our data models, translating real-world finance questions into concrete metrics.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of features in our Business Intelligence tools to empower decision-makers, particularly in finance, across the company.
  • Collaborate closely with finance teams to develop financial models, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Keep a pulse on financial and analytics use cases across the business, identifying gaps where we can better support our users and proposing actionable steps for improvement.
  • Develop and extend data models for stakeholders, with a focus on finance teams, to rely upon for analytics use cases. This includes digging into nuances in financial source data, designing dimensional models, and maintaining/optimizing existing models.
  • Evangelize best practices in analytics and finance data analysis by cultivating stakeholder relationships and creating end-user resources.

About you:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly with finance and business audiences.
  • Experience independently managing projects, including working directly with stakeholders in finance to translate business needs and ambiguous problem statements into insights and analytics solutions.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in an analytics role, with a strong emphasis on financial data analysis.
  • 3+ years of professional experience writing and testing SQL.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (such as Looker or Tableau), including both the development of the underlying data model and building visualizations to communicate financial insights.
  • Experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, and developing financial KPIs.
  • Bring a curious and creative mindset to understanding financial data.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with the design, development, and maintenance of financial dimensional models.
  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool).
  • Familiarity with a programming language such as Python or R.

Our range reflects the hiring range for this position.  We use national average to determine pay as we are a remote first company.  Individual pay is based on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, experience, education, and training.


Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program.  Honor offers generous equity packages that increase with position level and responsibilities, and a 401K with up to a 4% employer match.

Hiring Salary Range$133,200—$145,000 USD

Most of our positions are remote/work from home and do not require permanent relocation. As conditions allow, we have office space for in-person collaboration in our San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Austin, TX, and Omaha, NE hubs.
