GENERAL FUNCTION:
Collaborate effectively with Line of Business (LOB) and Credit Risk partners throughout the underwriting, credit approval, documentation, closing, funding, and post-closing procedures for credits. Responsible for managing risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and adhering to policies and procedures. Ensure actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience while operating within the bank's risk appetite. Achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focus on new money deals for new and existing borrowers.
- Focus on new investments for the CDC and assist in managing the CDC’s CDFI portfolio.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers (RM) and Investment Directors (ID) on initial deal review, modeling, and structuring, including creating the Opportunity Memo.
- Assist RM/IDs with deal pre-clearance within the Community Development Lending and Investment Group.
- Work with RM/IDs, customers/prospects, and third-party providers to obtain due diligence information.
- Utilize and analyze resources to prepare the credit approval document.
- Coordinate with RM/ID and Credit Risk to obtain proper credit approval.
- Engage and manage legal counsel and negotiate legal documentation with RM/ID.
- Manage the closing, funding, and booking process in cooperation with Loan Closing Specialists and Credit Collateral Operations.
- Complete internal and external post-closing items.
- Underwrite deal amendments and restructurings.
- Handle special projects and assignments as requested.
- Aid in the development of junior team members.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- College degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or economics.
- 7+ years of total work experience, including 4+ years in underwriting, credit, or originations that includes CRE and CDFI underwriting.
- Knowledge of LIHTC, NMTC, HTC is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer; advanced skills in Excel are a plus.
- Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple detailed tasks and processes concurrently.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, temperature, etc.
- Some travel is required.

Compensation:
The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the US. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
