Job Description
This is a professional position responsible for assisting in the collection, processing, maintenance and analysis of data and statistical information for use in the management of court programs and operations. The position will participate in all aspects of the Data Administration function including systems development and administration, data acquisition, preparation, quality, governance, and analysis. The position assists in the development and maintenance of data management systems, including applications, hardware, and the data itself. The position will serve as team member on a variety of projects developing computer programs to process and warehouse data, managing data quality, assisting end users in transmitting and receiving data, using computer programs and other tools, monitoring server backups, and identifying areas for process improvement. This position processes data, monitors logs, prepares research data sets, statistical reports, and data dictionaries. The position handles miscellaneous ad hoc data requests and provides general project and unit support.
This position is an on-site position in Tallahassee Florida. 100% remote work is not an option. Examples of Work
Provides assistance to data custodians in handling court data submission and reporting issues including quality, process monitoring and meta-data management reporting. Conducts analysis and monitor processes to report on data and process quality. Assists with the preparation of court data models and dictionaries. Assists with updates to data standards as necessary. Assists with the maintenance and upkeep of court research data systems to include system or software enhancements and security and control procedures. Serves on project teams to develop and maintain automation tools to support the Data Administration section and other Court Services sections and functions. Supports the work of the Data Administration section by participating in project planning sessions and serving on project teams, participating in court level workgroups, supporting court committees, and other court managers as necessary.
Assists in maintenance of the Court Services research server computer systems including special purpose software used or developed by Data Administration. Performs essential data processing tasks such as data entry, data submission processing, quality analysis, issue tracking, and assisting with compilation of informational materials. Works with other court personnel on matters relating to the management of court activity data. Consults and advises on other projects or assignments as directed. Provides support to court commissions and committees as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, information technology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience
Experience: Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that
would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
Three years of related work experience.
Special Qualifications: Proficiency in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) preferred. Programming and analytical experience preferred. Experience with the R statistical package, Tableau visualization platform and shell scripting automation desirable. Python, VBA or other languages a plus. Candidates should have a basic understanding of counting principles and experience in data scrubbing and validation techniques.
Competencies
-Knowledge Requirements: the Florida State Courts System organization, operations, and jurisdiction; interpreting and researching Florida Statutes, interpreting, and researching Florida Rules of Court; court administration programs and principles; quality management principles; and research, design, and data collection methods.
-Knowledge of data automation principles and workflow analysis. Good understanding of data base administration and design principles including data structures and query design. Thorough knowledge of the mathematical and statistical techniques common to data processing and verification.
-Skills and Abilities Requirements: excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; organize and manage multiple assignments/ projects; data collection, analysis, and presentation; and proficient personal computer skills including ability to design and apply consistent functional solutions to a variety of diverse problems.

Special Comments
Basic knowledge of data management software tools preferred: Microsoft T-SQL, Git version control, Tableau Visualization, PowerShell/Unix tools, Python. Training will be provided; however, mastery of this training is essential for success in this position. Experience with SAS, R, VBA, or other computing platforms a plus. A basic understanding of counting principles and strong experience in data scrubbing and validation techniques essential.
