Position Summary:
The Senior Coordinator, Chapter Projects plays a key role on the Chapters Conservation Action Team, managing the team’s workload and keeping projects running smoothly and on time. The Senior Coordinator, Chapter Projects enables the team to deliver Audubon’s mission for hemispheric bird conservation by equipping and empowering our more than 400 community chapters and 90 campus chapters in the United States and convening our hemispheric flock at the biannual Audubon Leadership Conference.
The Senior Coordinator, Chapter Projects provides project coordination, communications, and administrative support to the National Audubon Society Chapters Conservation Action team. A successful candidate will have strengths in project management and communication among internal and external audiences. This position reports to the Vice President of Conservation Action, Chapters within the Audubon Conservation division.

Salary range based on geo-differentials:
$22.00-$24.00/hour = National
$24.00-$27.00/hour = Alaska, CA (not San Francisco), Connecticut, D.C., Chicago, Oyster Bay, NY
$27.00-$30.00/hour = NYC (not Oyster Bay), San Francisco, Seattle

Essential Functions
Act as the primary coordination resource supporting Audubon Chapter Conservation Action team projects; plan, coordinate, and track progress of the team’s projects.
Develop and deploy systems, processes and tools to maintain clarity and alignment on team priorities and needs, enabling effective project planning, project delivery and problem-solving.
Proactively manage and facilitate project communications, including partnering with the project lead to craft agendas, take notes, and update project platforms.
Act as the go-to staff contact and relationship manager for a small portfolio of Audubon chapters, including driving to occasional in-person visits to chapters.
Coordinate biannual Audubon Leadership Conference project planning and execution, in close collaboration with the VP Conservation Action, Chapters and Senior Director, Events and Engagement Programs.
Orchestrate annual report process for more than 400 community chapters and 90 campus chapters, including communicating with chapter leaders, responding to questions and providing technical support, keeping the process on schedule, and ensuring annual payments to chapters are made promptly.
Support planning, management and tracking of progress toward large grants that fund the department’s program.
Assist with Audubon staff to ensure that equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging principles are incorporated and followed in all aspects of our work.

Qualifications and Experience:
Three to five years of directly relevant work experience in project management required.
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, biology, or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
Demonstrated experience applying project management best practices using tools such as Asana is required. PMP or other relevant certification preferred.
Proven problem-solving ability and systemic approach to tackling challenges.
Demonstrated experience preparing effective written materials, presentations, and other documentation and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
Ability to work cooperatively with peers, team members, and others to set responsibilities and agree on schedules.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to changes in assignments and priorities and unexpected obstacles, while considering all individuals’ diverse needs and experiences.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Familiarity with designing and utilizing spreadsheets and other information tracking tools is a must.
Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail a must.
Willing and able to travel, approximately up to six times per year.
Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
A valid driver’s license required and ability to provide own transportation.
