SRE is seeking a Senior Consultant – Business Intelligence and Economic Analysis to support a federal contract focused on economic intelligence, geospatial analysis, business continuity planning, and strategic communications in support of emergency management, disaster recovery, and supply chain resilience efforts.

This contract provides critical decision-support services to federal agencies responsible for disaster response and business stabilization, ensuring that real-time data, predictive analytics, and structured reports drive informed policy and operational decisions. The role will involve integrating economic and geospatial insights into interactive dashboards, delivering executive-level reports, and leading workforce training programs to improve data literacy and decision-making at multiple operational levels.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in economic impact analysis, geospatial data visualization, workforce training, and technical communication, with experience using tools like Power BI, ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Suite to provide actionable intelligence to government stakeholders, industry leaders, and operational teams engaged in disaster response and recovery.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting

  • Conduct firmographic, economic, and supply chain analyses to assess business, workforce, and industry stability.
  • Perform pre-, during-, and post-disaster assessments to evaluate economic trends, risks, and disruptions.
  • Develop methodologies for data aggregation, modeling, and visualization to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess economic stabilization and response timelines.
  • Provide post-disaster assessments and structured reporting on evolving market conditions.

Data Visualization & Business Intelligence

  • Lead the development of interactive dashboards to display economic, business, and supply chain data in near real-time.
  • Utilize GIS tools (ArcGIS, Power BI, and other visualization platforms) to generate geospatial analytics and mapping products.
  • Oversee the creation of infographics, reports, and visual storytelling materials for decision-makers.
  • Ensure data visualization tools align with operational needs and federal standards for reporting and compliance.

Training & Technical Communications

  • Design and implement training programs, instructional materials, and SOPs to enhance workforce capabilities.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and knowledge transfer efforts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and best practices guides for economic and business intelligence products.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to translate complex data into accessible insights for leadership and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Sector Collaboration

  • Collaborate with government agencies, private sector partners, and operational teams to align data insights with mission objectives.
  • Provide real-time economic impact updates and strategic briefings to federal decision-makers.
  • Ensure communication materials and training programs meet federal contract requirements and operational priorities.

Education and Experience (Requirements):

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree (preferred, 6-8 years of experience) in Business, Economics, Data Science, Communications, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field.
    • OR Bachelor’s degree (required, 10 years minimum experience) in a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years in a role that includes some combination of:
    • Data analytics, economic modeling, or supply chain risk assessment.
    • Geospatial analysis and business intelligence visualization (e.g., Power BI, ArcGIS, Tableau).
    • Technical writing, training development, and structured reporting.
    • Stakeholder communication, executive briefings, and graphical content creation.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Power BI, ArcGIS, and data visualization tools for economic and geospatial analysis.
    • Experience supporting federal contracts, emergency management, or economic intelligence initiatives.
    • Ability to synthesize and present complex data for high-level decision-making.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in data-driven environments.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insights for leadership and policy teams.
    • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in high-paced, mission-driven environments.

Additional Experience (Preferred, but not required):

  • Familiarity with supply chain analytics and economic stabilization frameworks.
  • Experience developing communication strategies for government or federal agencies.
  • Background in emergency management, crisis response, or federal agency operations.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $100,000 - $155,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE’s total compensation package for employees.

Work Environment: 

The primary work location of this position is the Washington D.C. Metro area, remote work is allowed but not guaranteed. Please Note: if you live outside the commutable area, travel expenses are not reimbursed to the primary work location.
