REPORTS TO: Senior Compliance Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Annex Management Group is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to process and approve LIHTC (Low Income Housing Tax Credit) applications and lease renewals for a variety of properties across multiple states to certify only qualified households move in. Follow and stay up to date with the guidelines of LIHTC to ensure that owners and investors’ tax credits are protected. Function as an in-house LIHTC specialist to provide direct support to site staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
• Collaboration This position serves as The Annex Group point person for each property in lease up from start to finish. It requires collaboration and communication with the developers, the general contractors, and all departments within The Annex Group.
• Ensuring compliance with HUD, Rural Development Section 42 (HTC), the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and other relevant housing programs.
• Reviewing and maintaining resident files for compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
• Supporting on-site property management teams by providing training and guidance on compliance processes.
• Auditing tax credit and blended lease-up files to maintain compliance with program regulations.
• Overseeing voucher processing and reconciliations, including HUD and RD submissions, tenant files, and monthly reporting.
• Managing workflows in compliance software to ensure proper processes are followed.
• Coordinating with staff to process annual recertifications, rent changes, and tenant certifications.
• Monitoring EIV requirements and managing repayment agreements.
• Troubleshooting Yardi-related issues and supporting affordable housing software tasks.
• Providing on-site training and ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
• Review initial paperwork received from site in a timely manner to ensure all required forms have been completed and review for any paperwork corrections needed.
• Work with site staff to obtain and review any paperwork corrections.
• Obtain all verifications required and calculate total household income.
• Update all information in Yardi to generate the Tenant Income Certification form (TIC)
• Issue approval letter to site staff for any move-ins or lease renewals
• Scanning in of complete and approved files into digital archives and sending back originals to sites
• Travel to sites as requested by Director of Compliance to audit files.
• Assist Director of Compliance with Tax Credit Compliance training
• Assist Director of Compliance in updating all forms, TSP, Compliance Manual

• Property management experience required.
• LIHTC Affordable Housing Experience Required
• 2-3 years previous management experience required.

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Working knowledge of social media and MS Office software programs necessary
• Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools.
