Twinkl's remarkable journey from a back bedroom to a global force in education is not just about growth; it's about cultivating a culture that values each team member. Our global team of over 1500 within 13 years is a testament to our commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone thrives. Now, at the very beginning of a period of evolution in tech, we are focused on maturing our processes and amplifying our impact in the digital product space.

The cloud platform engineering team is new to Twinkl and this role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Twinkl’s journey in AWS. You’ll be implementing a greenfield platform to allow product teams to deploy their infrastructure and applications to AWS through CICD pipelines. You will also play a key role in evangelising AWS to the organisation, establishing and maintaining an AWS community and offering your expertise wherever it’s required.

As a senior engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing simple solutions to complex problems, mentoring junior engineers and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

🎓 Senior Cloud Platform Engineers who believe in the transformative power of education and technology.

🚧 Problem solvers with a can-do attitude, adept at navigating challenges both independently and collaboratively.

💻 Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services with a focus on serverless architecture. Experience with deploying and operating production environments with IaC, preferably terraform. Some software development experience would be highly desirable.

🤝 Desire to work with other teams across the organisation to build an AWS community within Twinkl.

🌟 Passion for delivering top-notch, reliable platforms and finding simple solutions to complex problems.

🧑‍💼 Mentors that enjoy helping out junior engineers

🔥 Excitement and dedication to Twinkl's values and the broader field of education technology.

Getting to Know Each Other:

We like to keep things simple and clear:

  1. Initial 30 minute chat with the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager so you can get to know more about the role.
  2. Take-home technical test - a few questions that you can answer in your own time at your own pace.
  3. 90 minute interview - We’ll go over your tech test and talk in more detail about your answers. Then we’ll do a few competency based questions. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the role and Twinkl and get to know why the tech team is a really exciting place to work.
  4. That’s it, we’ll review everything and let you know, either way you’ll be given feedback about your interview because we believe constructive feedback is always important.

We feel this approach gives us the best chance for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us and understand the role, but at any point, our team is always on hand to answer any questions and support you in your journey.
