Senior Business Analyst

About the Position The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Director of Reporting and Analytics and collaborates closely with stakeholders from various departments such as, finance, sales, marketing, business intelligence, IT and product management. This role will provide reporting and data analysis to many different business teams as well as contribute to the day-to-day execution of the business operations plan. This is a key position that will provide support and business intelligence to the many different business organizations and senior level executives. As such, an experienced person with proven attention to detail and accuracy is required for this role.
A Day in the LifeThis role entails a variety of work primarily devoted to the operations organization. Data Analysis and processing, report automation, process improvement, requirements gathering and data quality assurance. On a daily basis this individual will spend time in Excel, Tableau, SQL, and Jira providing visibility into WatchGuard’s many data systems.
30/60/90 Plan
- Initially there is a lot of learning for the first 90 days primarily centered on WatchGuard Point of Sale data
- 0-30 days – Understanding how point of sale data is processed and presented through out WatchGuard
- 30-60 days – Taking over several point of sale data streams from processing to reporting and analysis
- 60-90 days – Exposure to additional datasets and ownership of database or reporting projects
Position Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Tableau reports
- SQL Query writing
- Take ownership of project requirements and timelines
- Advise management about business trends using strong analysis skills
- Monitor data quality for several data pipelines
- Become subject matter expert on point of sale, discount reserves, product performance and device activation
- Partner with Leadership, Sales, and Marketing to provide quality, actionable, and efficient reporting/analysis
- Stay current on product, internal/external partner, and distributor changes
Skills and Qualifications
- Individual must be a team-oriented self-starter with good problem-solving skills and ability to interact positively and successfully with all levels of the company
- Must be an expert at Microsoft Excel with exceptionally strong formula and data analytics skills
- Attention to detail and quality control are critical
- Salesforce experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High energy level – willingness and desire to do what is needed to get the job done
Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a technology business, finance or sales/business operations environment required
- Background in Business Analysis providing insight to senior leadership
- 3+ Tableau or similar reporting software, including use of parameters, permissions, hierarchies
- 2+ years SQL. Queries, procedures, and basic database design
- Experience with million plus datasets
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 USD, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 5% of the base salary. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth. U.S. Benefits
