​We are looking for a talented individual…

We are seeking a Senior Building Science Analyst to support the improvement and ongoing implementation and planning of residential energy efficiency programs. Acts as a technical expert to residential programs including developing technical program guidance, developing training materials, using building rating tools, conducting audits, and creating/interpreting/implementing measure specifications.

  • Collaborate with architects, builders, and energy raters to integrate performance-driven design features from concept through construction

  • Evaluate new products, construction techniques, and technologies for application in residential buildings

  • Support compliance with residential energy codes, above-code programs (e.g., ENERGY STAR, Zero Energy Ready Homes), and certification paths

  • Identifies and delivers on opportunities to improve technical work products and processes

  • Fully understands program impacts due to TRM adjustments and code changes (federal, state, local)

  • Supports specifications/guidelines/minimum requirement components of prescriptive measure builds (for proposal and planning purposes)

  • Determines technical eligibility for measures in program portfolios

  • Experienced at generating building ratings

  • Develops technical training materials and conducts trainings; both internal and external

  • Completes internal evaluations of program measures; communicate issues and best practices to senior building scientist

  • Completes and QA/QCs building science components for prescriptive measure builds (for proposal and planning purposes); supports development of non-prescriptive measure builds

  • Stay up-to-date on residential building codes, building technologies, and housing market trends

  • Develops QA/QC protocols for field inspections and install documentation

Exciting candidates will have…

  • 8+ Years’ experience in residential energy efficiency, building performance, or construction
  • w/BS or MS in Building Science or related program
  • Experience with energy modeling tools like REM/Rate, BEopt, or HOT2000
  • Knowledge of ENERGY STAR for Homes, DOE Zero Energy Ready Homes, Passive House, or similar programs
  • Familiarity with residential HVAC systems, insulation practices, air barriers, and moisture control strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with both field crews and program operations teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HERS Rater, BPI certification, PHIUS, or RESNET credentials
  • Experience with on-site diagnostic testing (blower door, duct testing, IR thermography)
  • Familiarity with retrofit programs and strategies for existing homes
  • Data analysis experience using Excel, Python, or similar tools is a plus

Target Compensation...

$74,000 - $92,500 depending upon experience.

Compensation Range

$74,000.00 - $111,000.00
