Position Highlights:
Position Title: Senior Biostatistician Location: Remote or HybridPosition End Date: 10/31/2026 Salary: $75,000 plus benefits 
Overview: 
The CDC Foundation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Public Health Biostatistician with expertise in data visualization to support the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This role involves applying advanced statistical techniques and leveraging data visualization tools like Power BI to enhance public health research, program evaluations, and data-driven decision-making across the state. The Biostatistician will also take on special projects as assigned, contributing to various public health initiatives that address emerging health concerns in Nevada.You will collaborate with teams to analyze complex health data, develop impactful visualizations, write detailed reports, and provide insights that drive public health strategies and interventions aimed at improving the health of Nevada's populations.
Qualifications:
•Education and Experience: Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Math, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in biostatistics or data analysis, preferably in a public health or state agency setting. Experience with data visualization, particularly Power BI, is highly desired. •Skills:- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, STATA, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).- Strong understanding of biostatistical methods, epidemiology, and public health principles.- Proven experience in developing interactive dashboards, visual reports, and writing comprehensive reports that clearly communicate complex data findings.- Ability to analyze and present complex data in clear, compelling visual formats and written reports for diverse audiences.- Flexibility to take on special projects as assigned and effectively manage shifting priorities.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain statistical and visual insights to non-technical stakeholders and produce professional reports.- Experience working with large health-related datasets.
Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with Nevada DHHS teams to design studies, perform statistical analyses, and create dynamic data visualizations using Power BI and other tools.•Conduct data cleaning, hypothesis testing, modeling, and statistical analyses on state-level public health data.•Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visual reports in Power BI to present statistical findings and trends to state health officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders.•Write comprehensive reports to communicate statistical analysis results, key insights, and actionable recommendations for public health policies and programs.•Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on statistical analysis and visualized data to inform public health policies and programs.•Assist in the evaluation of public health programs by assessing the impact and effectiveness of interventions through both statistical and visual analysis, and documenting findings in written reports.•Take on special projects as assigned, adapting to new public health challenges and priorities by contributing statistical expertise, data visualization support, and producing well-documented reports.•Offer consultation on study design, data collection methods, and statistical validity to support robust public health research and decision-making.•Link and analyze large datasets from health surveillance systems, registries, and administrative health records, translating data into actionable insights via dashboards, reports, and written documentation.•Ensure that key health data is presented in an accessible, understandable, and useful format for public health efforts across Nevada, both visually and in written form.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve.
