A Bid Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire bid process within a company, from identifying potential opportunities to crafting and submitting competitive proposals, ensuring all bids are compliant, compelling, and tailored to client needs to secure new business contracts. They manage a bid team, analyze tender documents, coordinate with various departments, and present bids to clients to win new contracts.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree. A combination of education and work experience may be substituted
- 5+ years of experience in proposal/ pursuit management
- Experience writing client-facing documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong planning, project management and organizational skills
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to maintain deadlines
- Excellent communication, articulate and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Possess a critical eye in terms of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work under pressure, handle stressful situations and deadline pressures while consistently delivering high quality work
- Ability to plan and carryout responsibilities with minimal direction
- Effectively liaise with all levels of management, offshore and regional teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials
- Commercial acumen, understanding of business drivers, broad solutions, and the outsourcing market
JOB DUTIES

- Bid planning and strategy: Analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs), identify key client requirements, and develop a comprehensive bid strategy.
- Team skills: Lead and coordinate a cross-functional bid team, including technical experts, writers, and sales personnel, assigning tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Bid writing and content creation: Oversee the development of compelling bid proposals, including technical details, case studies, and executive summaries, ensuring clarity and persuasiveness. This includes creating and curating content and conducting data analysis, as needed, to contribute to various areas of proposal and pitch documents.
- Cost analysis and pricing: Understand and coordinate accurate cost breakdowns and pricing strategies for bids, considering profitability and market competitiveness.
- Client communication: Interact with potential clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and present bids effectively.
- Compliance management: Ensure bids adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements of the tendering process.
- Bid evaluation and review: Analyze submitted bids to identify areas for improvement and optimize future proposals.
- Post-bid activities: Follow up with clients after bid submission, address any questions, and manage the transition to contract execution if successful. Engage in post RFP feedback sessions to drive continuous improvement in the bid process.
- Content management: Contribute to a centralized content repository and ensure content collected throughout the RFP process is added and/or updated into the system
- Ad-hoc projects: Support and take on other responsibilities as needed, such as preparation of business development or marketing materials
Per state requirements, this posting reflects the salary range for this position for the following: $70,000 Minimum $75,000 CAD Maximum per annum
