Role Overview
This unique role combines responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day management of employee benefits, higher level benefit items, and ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ideal candidate
will lead a team of benefits specialists to provide exceptional service, will have a strong understanding of benefit programs, employee disability rights and coordinate accommodations. This individual will also act as a point of
contact for our vendor and HR Managers regarding disability-related issues and benefits questions.
Compensation: $72,000 - 75,000/annually
Responsibilities:
Benefits Team Lead:
Lead a team of benefits specialists, ensuring efficient and smooth operations of employee benefits
programs.
Act as a subject matter expert for benefits-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to employees
and HR team members.
Collaborate with external vendors to ensure seamless benefits administration, promptly resolving any
issues related to enrollment and benefits processes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company-specific benefits regulations, policies, and
procedures.
Maintain updated and accurate documentation of benefits processes and procedures to ensure
consistency and clarity.
American Disabilities Specialist:
Serve as the primary point of contact for NYL and HR Managers, ensuring compliance with the ADA and other relevant disability laws.
Manage the interactive process for evaluating accommodation requests and work with HR managers to identify reasonable accommodations.
Maintain accurate records of accommodation requests, outcomes, and other related documentation.
Work closely with Legal, HR managers, and Compliance teams to ensure organizational policies and procedures are aligned with disability laws and best practices.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
Proven experience leading a team and managing multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Experience with vendor interaction and collaboration.
Certifications such as ADA Coordinator or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) preferred
