Position Summary:
As a member of the Audubon’s Development Communications team, the Senior Associate, Development Communications, will collaborate with other members of Audubon’s National Development team as well as non-development program staff to create content to support revenue growth, including funding proposals, stewardship/donor reports, decks and talking points, and other developed materials for current and potential funders.
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Development Communications, the Senior Associate, Development Communications serves as writer, editor, and project manager for a wide variety of print and electronic projects.
Compensation:
Salary range based on geo-differentials:
$55,000-$60,000/year = National
$65,000-$70,000/year = Alaska, CA (not San Francisco), Connecticut, D.C., Chicago, Oyster Bay, NY
$75,000-$80,000/year = NYC (not Oyster Bay), San Francisco, Seattle

Essential Functions
Craft compelling written materials for use in cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting individual and institutional donors.
Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including frontline fundraisers and the creative/design team to ensure timely completion of deadline-driven projects.
Project manage the input of several stakeholders to develop a successful submission.
Support internal and external development of communications materials that articulates Audubon’s mission and showcases its impact and accomplishments
Develop a deep understanding of Audubon’s mission, projects, and strategic priorities.
Assist with Audubon staff to ensure that equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging principles are incorporated and followed in all aspects of our work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; minimum 3-5 years in non-profit, business or technical writing communications, or related field. Development writing preferred.
Excellent writing, editing, research, organizational skills, and ability to convey complex information in a clear and persuasive manner.
Strong project management skills.
Comfortable prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
A command of effective storytelling.
Ability to work independently and as part of team, including on deadline-driven projects and occasional tight timelines.
Familiarity with non-profit fundraising strongly desired.
Team-oriented, flexible, and self-driven; committed to professional growth; comfortable working in a rapidly evolving, mission-driven environment; a creative approach to solving problems and completing projects.
Clear enthusiasm for development, communications, and Audubon’s mission.
Commitment to Audubon’s organizational values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation.
