Role SummaryThe FBI requires the on-site assistance of one (1) Senior Architect to assist with fulfilling the design and construction requirements of the AESU team.
**This role is 100% onsite in Washington D.C. Individuals must have current Top Secret security clearance already in place.**

Essential Functions a. Act as a consultant in establishing design standards and criteria for construction projects.b. Provide on-site field survey measurements and verification, including documentation of space, equipment, workflow, required adjacencies, communication, and organizational requirements. Provide recommendations based on observations.c. Prepare stacking plans to accommodate functionality and adjacency requirements.d. Prepare blocking plans, schematic or conceptual designs, and design intent drawings in AutoCAD. Ensure drawings comply with the Bureau’s Program of Requirements (POR), Campus Design Guides, and Construction Standards.e. Perform design reviews and submit comments in required format.f. Ensure that drawings and specifications which are submitted to the FBI for review comply with POR requirements.g. Manage design of projects throughout the project, from programming to post-occupancy. Includes building and maintaining relationships with end user, local team, subject matter experts, etc.h. Perform construction administration duties, such as reviewing and answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, reviewing and producing field reports, walking theRTOR # Version 3.0 Page 4site and verifying accuracy and compliance of construction with drawings and PORrequirements, participating in creation and closeout of punch-list, and more.i. Review proposals, documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and ability to meet POR requirements. Provide comments and/or recommendations as necessary.j. Provide support in development and evaluation of project schedules.k. Maintain knowledge on recent versions of the International Building Code and Commentary (IBC), the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS), and all pertinent federal accessibility standards.l. Coordinate with AESU peer colleagues, FBI Project Managers, customers and other Bureau personnel/contractors, and other project team members on projects as necessary.m. Other similar or related services not of a decision-making nature.n. Miscellaneous services which will require proficiency in the use of Microsoft’s Word, Excel, Power Point, Project software tools and AutoCAD.o. Assist in the development of reports, studies and presentations.p. Exhibit professionalism, good customer service and communication skills and serve as a cooperative team player.q. Able to multitask and assume multiple projects or assignments simultaneously.r. Collaborate and assist in resolving critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers and federal agency clients.s. Exhibit resiliency if shifting priorities require reprioritization of workload.t. Understand and be able to implement standards as outlined in the POR, Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards. Suggest edits or updates to these documents, as applicable.
Required Qualifications- Top Secret security clearance- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Architecture- Must be proficient in the most current version of AutoCAD software- Must have current knowledge of and relevant work experience in workspace design as it relates to the health and welfare of building occupants- Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction - Twenty (20) years of experience or more is preferable - Attainment of an architecture license is preferable
