The Role:
The Sr. Analytics Engineer role will report to the Director of Data Services and will work within the Analytics team. This role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical specifications and building analytics solutions. The role involves working within the Arine data lake to build complex data transformations that power our BI solutions. The Sr. Analytics Engineer will work collaboratively and cross-functionally, including with an experienced team of in-house clinicians, engineers, customer success executives, and product managers. A background in Healthcare is ideal for this role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create and implement analytical data models according to requirements from Product and our Customer Solutions Architects, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the data
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present complex data in an understandable and actionable format
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide ongoing support and training to users on various analytics tools and data products
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to existing BI solutions to enhance functionality and incorporate new data sources or analytics capabilities
- Build and maintain a single source of truth for metrics used across the organization
- Create and maintain technical documentation for all development work
- Collaborate with a team of analysts and engineers to deliver high quality data-driven products
- Stay ahead of the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, data engineering, and data visualization to improve our analytics capabilities continuously
- Write production level Python and Snowflake SQL for data transformations and extracts
- Write and integrate data unit tests as part of data model development and deployment
- Use AWS services and technologies to automate, schedule and log data extracts
Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a BI Developer and/or Data Engineer
- Experience creating an automated ETL process using Python and Snowflake
- Experience with data processing, validation, cleaning, and debugging data sets
- Experience with AWS frameworks (i.e. S3, DynamoDB, Batch, Step Functions)
- Experience with processing large data sets (over 1GB)
- Experience with Shell scripting
- Strong knowledge of BI tools and software such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc. (strong preference for Quicksight)
- Expertise in database management and data modeling, with a strong command of SQL
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- A demonstrable and deep understanding of healthcare /healthcare claims data
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms
- Experience working cross-functionally to define analyses, objectives and deliver analytical results
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple projects, and solve problems under tight deadlines and limited resources
- Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding

The posted range represents the expected salary for this position and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits, and perks. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The salary range for this position is: $120,000-140,000/year.
