THE JOB: Senior Analyst, Physician Payments
The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range.
Starting Salary Range: $90,640 - $113,330
Reporting to the Manager, Family Physician Payments, the Senior Analyst will provide analytical and operational leadership to support the delivery of FPSC payment programs, the implementation of the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model, and other projects as needed.
The Senior Analyst will apply analytical skills to prepare economic and financial analyses, including forecasting, budgeting, and modeling. The role involves synthesizing and evaluating quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources. The Senior Analyst will apply communication skills to prepare written and verbal communication to inform policy development and decision making. The Senior Analyst will apply project management and coordination skills to ensure project deliverables are advancing in a timely manner. The Senior Analyst will exercise professional acumen and tact when communicating with physicians on complex and sensitive matters. The Senior Analyst will develop and sustain collaborative relationships with colleagues within and across teams, leadership, and external partners/stakeholders such as Ministry of Health, divisions of family practice, and health authorities.
As examples, the day-to-day activities of the Senior Analyst may include (but not limited to) preparing and presenting economic or financial analyses to improve decision-making, working with internal/external stakeholders to implement business and administrative processes, and interpreting program policies to directly support physicians inquiring about payment programs.
To be successful, the Senior Analyst must be proficient in using statistical software to prepare economic/financial analyses and in translating technical material to various audiences. In addition, the Senior Analyst must demonstrate attention to detail, communicate verbally and in writing, coordinate/deliver on project deliverables, and cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU BRING
- Master’s Degree in a related field and 3+ years of recent related experience in economic and/or financial analysis or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Proficiency in using software such as (but not limited to) R and Tableau to run economic/financial models, visualize data, create dashboards, and manage data workflows.
- Proficiency in using advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data visualization.
- Experience handling datasets, including cleaning, managing, and transforming datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis/reporting, an asset.
- Experience applying operations management principles, including process analysis and workflow optimization, an asset.
- Ability to translate technical information to various audiences.
- Excellent writing skills and experience developing clear, concise and comprehensive correspondence and other documents.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication and relationship management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to apply problem solving skills with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
- Project management experience, including implementing timelines, estimating and monitoring budgets, and identifying risks.
- Strong client/customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
- Experience working in the BC health care system or general knowledge of the BC health care system is an asset.
- Previous success working in dynamic, challenging and ambiguous environments, an asset.
