Senior Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Rightway is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. We’re seeking an experienced accountant to assist with month end close responsibilities through our next phase of maturation. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in the PBM and/or Healthcare industry, is a strong communicator and experienced in full cycle accounting, extremely detail oriented and excited to join a seasoned team of technology and healthcare experts looking to help humanize the world of healthcare. The Senior Accountant will be pivotal in helping to streamline month end close, perform accounts payable tasks, assist in our financial audit, and help to build our PBM accounting processes. This is a unique opportunity to join a small but efficient team that values ideas and collaboration to improve our processes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Collaborate and assist Controller in month end close process - preparation of monthly financial statements
- Analyze general ledger balances, investigate variances, review account reconciliations to align actual results with budgets/forecasts for our Pharmacy Benefit Manager line of business
- Lead daily accounting activities including AP, general ledger and bank transactions ensuring proper recordation of transactions according to GAAP standards
- Completion of monthly accruals and journal entries
- Review/assist with revenue review in accordance with ASC606 standards
- Working knowledge of sales and use tax filings/software (Avalara or Sovos)
- Assist with strengthening internal controls - make recommendations to help improve internal controls
- Assist with yearly audits - financial, bank, 401K, etc
- Develop and strengthen relationships with Rightway team members through cross collaboration
- Ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to new and unique accounting requirements
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required
- 6+ years accounting experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
- Experience within the healthcare technology industry, Pharmacy Benefit Management is a plus
- Experience and proficiency with Netsuite software
- Strong working knowledge of and experience in financial reporting, month end closing, and audit support
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
- Commitment to providing a quality internal service with high levels of satisfaction.
- High level of competence in Excel (or similar) reporting tools. Ability to navigate Gsuite tools is also necessary.
SALARY (BEFORE BONUS POTENTIAL): $85,000 - $115,000
