We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Accountant II to join our Corporate Accounting Operations Team in Newport Beach, CA.
This role is 100% remote. You’ll stay connected to Pacific Life from your home office.
As a Senior Accountant II, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success participating in the financial close of Corporate PL and PL&A business units along with their affiliated subsidiaries. This encompasses performing thorough analyses of financial statements, conducting reconciliations, preparing entries, and reports essential for the financial closure. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 8 people in the Corporate Accounting Operations division.
How you will make an impact:
Manage the accounting closure of Corporate PL and PL&A business units and their subsidiaries.
Conduct comprehensive financial statement analyses and reconciliations.
Support the consolidation process for PMHC and its subsidiaries.
Serve as a support resource for corporate and compensation accruals.
Review and approve specific transaction journal entries and peer-reviewed work.
Perform data analysis and account reconciliation.
Prepare entries, reports, and analyses necessary for financial closure.
Participate in various projects, including process enhancement, automation, and procedural documentation.
The experience you will bring:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required to ensure a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in accounting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of financial processes, reconciliations, and financial statement analyses.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle GL or similar) and Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
