Senior Accountant - Healthcare - United States
Fully Remote. Must live in CA, NV, TX, KS, MO, OH, FL, TN, NC, MI, TNSalary: $70,000 - 80,000/yearThe Senior Accountant will play a key role in our finance department, responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare finance, strong technical skills in Microsoft Great Plains (GP), and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Lead and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial integrity, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices, recommending process enhancements as needed.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, contributing financial expertise and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains (GP) or similar ERP systems is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
