Job Description:

We are actively looking for a highly technical Engineer with experience in Sediment investigation and remediation, including completion of feasibility study evaluations, remedial investigations, and detailed design to join our team. Parsons has played a leadership role in many of the largest and most complex sediment remediation projects completed to date.  We have a broad portfolio of projects currently in process that includes all phases of sediment remediation, including site investigations, Feasibility Studies, design, construction management and long-term monitoring. 

Position Overview:  

Our Sediment Engineers support remediation programs from proposal and initial investigations through design, construction, monitoring and site closeout.

  • In this role, you will develop and/or supervise the development of environmental engineering products that meet our customer requirements.  This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, completing engineering analysis, generation of work products, and reporting the work status.
  • Typical products may include, detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.  You will develop and implement remediation solutions for our clients, which includes preparing engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. 
  • We expect that you are proficient at managing project tasks independently (e.g., field programs and detailed designs) and developing written reports for final internal reviews and managing task and/or project costs and schedule.
  • This position would be based out of the Syracuse, NY, Boston, MA, Princeton, NJ, or Bridgewater, NJ office.  Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected.   

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in an engineering or related curriculum.
  • 10+ years relevant industry experience performing sediment investigation, remedial design and related tasks is required.   
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required and/or the ability to acquire PE licensure in key states.
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices and environmental regulations is required.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications typically used within the assigned discipline is required.
  • Industry visibility and participation in collaborative industry teams (e.g., ITRC, Society of Civil Engineers, etc.) is strongly preferred. 
  • Professional publications and a history of external presentations at professional conferences is strongly preferred.
  • History of technology development and the design of alternate sediment remedial technologies (e.g., in-situ sequestration) is preferred.

Salary Range: 

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
