WORK TYPE: Remote

LOCATION DETAILS: Candidate must live in the U.S.A with preference to someone in Central or Eastern time zone.

WORK HOURS: Fulltime Exempt - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules. 

PAY RATE: USD $68,000 - $80,000 base salary

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: ~10-15% - Some travel for event support. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Security Intelligence Analyst collaborates with the Safety and Security Team to conduct intelligence analysis, monitor security threats, and assess risks related to Varsity Brands’ security operations, including company events. This role requires an intelligence professional with expertise in threat intelligence, security risk analysis, and intelligence reporting. The analyst provides actionable insights for decision-makers to safeguard company assets, personnel, events, and operations. 

Candidates with prior experience in private-sector security intelligence operations, as well as in government or law enforcement intelligence, are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and threat monitoring skills, experience writing intelligence reports and assessments, and proficiency with the tools and platforms used for threat monitoring. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

  • Identify, gather and analyze intelligence on security threats, including active shooter incidents, terrorism, violent and local crime, social unrest, and geopolitical issues that could impact Varsity Brands’ operations, assets and events. 
  • Leverage open-source intelligence (OSINT), subscription-based threat monitoring platforms, and internal data sources to monitor and assess threats in real-time. 
  • Produce intelligence products such as threat reports, security bulletins, risk assessments, and situational awareness updates for senior leadership and the security team. 
  • Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools to visualize data, track trends, and enhance intelligence reporting.  
  • Provide briefings and presentations to security leadership on emerging threats, security incidents, and intelligence findings.  
  • Liaise with private-sector and state fusion center intelligence professionals to enhance intelligence-sharing, situational awareness and share best practices.  
  • Support corporate security operations during events, crisis events, emergency response situations, or major incidents.  
  • Maintain awareness of domestic and global security issues and threats (active shooter, terrorism, violent and local crime, social unrest, geopolitical risks, political instability, human trafficking trends, pandemics, and natural disasters, severe weather, etc.) that could be relevant to Varsity Brands’ interests.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working with Global Security Operations Centers (GSOCs), special event Joint Operations Center (JOC) or state Fusion Center. 
  • Strong understanding of corporate security risk analysis, physical security threats, and intelligence collection methodologies.  
  • Experience developing risk assessments and writing incident briefing, threat intelligence and after-action reports.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and presentations.  
  • Skilled at using OSINT tools and techniques for analyzing surface, deep, and dark web content, as well as analytical platforms for threat monitoring and forecasting. 
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-risk environments and respond to rapidly evolving security situations.  
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced environments where intelligence gathering and analysis are essential for decision-making. 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in intelligence and analysis, criminal justice, emergency management, public safety, or a related field is preferred. 

  • Three or more years of experience as a corporate security or law enforcement intelligence analyst conducting threat intelligence, security risk analysis, and intelligence reporting utilizing OSINT tools and threat monitoring platforms.  

  • Certifications in intelligence analysis, security risk assessment, or threat assessments (e.g., Certified Intelligence Analyst, Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (CTIA), FBI Academy, ASIS, etc.)  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

​​This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.  

During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
